It’s a lot closer to Ottawa and Gatineau than most resorts in the Laurentians but still gives you a true mountain experience. At over 1200 feet, Mont Ste-Marie has the highest vertical between the Laurentians and the Rockies. There are 2 sides to the mountain – Vanier and Cheval Blanc, both serviced by high speed quad lifts. Vanier is more about the beginner and intermediate slopes and that’s where to find the snow park. Vanier has longer trails with a fantastic view. If you’re up for more of a challenge, the Cheval Blanc has the more expert terrain. In total, there are 20 trails over 100 skiable acres. Mont Ste-Marie sees an average of 300cm of natural snow which they top up with 200 cutting edge technology snow guns.
