In addition to a stunning view of the St. Lawrence River, Mont-Comi has an encompassing view of the entire Mitis area. Part of the Appalachain Mountain Range, you’ll enjoy skiing the 26 runs with trails for all level of skier including 5 glade runs. The steepest run is called “le Mur” which translates to be “the Wall” and is a 35° slope. There is a snowpark and halfpipe as well as 10 paths spread over 20 km for cross country skiers. Mont Comi Park is quite a spirit filled resort – for example, if you choose to ski on the Saturday before Easter week, you’ll participate in an annual celebration called the ski boom where all skiers wear a costume. There is a contest for the best costume as well as a run down the mountain with lighted torches, a mannequin race, entertainment and games. Parc du Mont Comi also hosts an annual Telefestival (telemark festival) which is the biggest telemark gathering in eastern Canada. Parc du Mont-Comi has been a decided forerunner in Quebec for telemarking. It is our understanding that Mont-Comi is in the process of adding a new lift which is expected to be completed in the winter of 2010.
Mont-Comi is said to have the best view point in the area to see the St-Lawrence river and the whole Mitis area in fact.
