Shames Mountain

Shames Mountain is one of the best kept secrets of Northern B.C, and is located just west of Terrace in the Coast Mountain range. It’s been operating for more than 19 years and holds the record for more snow than any other lift-served ski area in North America. There are 28 marked trails with all levels of difficulty represented from easy to expert, and 45 hectares of phenomenal natural glades to ski or ride, but it’s the access to backcountry skiing that really makes Shames stand out. The back country experience and the 1200 cm average annual snow fall, that is, that make Shames stand out.
Shames amenities and facilities include great ski and snowboard programs for all abilities, rentals and repairs, shopping, the Galloway’s Mountain Bar and the Panhandler Cafe. At Shames Mountain, the snow is awesome, the people are friendly and the skiing and snowboarding experience are second to none!
