Heading to the north end of Vancouver Island, you’ll find Mount Cain. Mount Cain is located in the Schoen Lake Regional Park and is run by the Mount Cain Alpine Park society – this is a community owned and run hill. The annual snowfall is 300 cm and since it is only open Saturdays, Sundays (and partially on Mondays), you’ll have no trouble finding untouched powder. It’s a family atmosphere and you’ll enjoy 18 trails with a variety of experience level and great backcountry. Please ensure that you must have appropriate tire chains in your vehicle to be traveling these roads.
