Located in the Niagara Escarpment and owned by environmental agency Conservation Halton, Glen Eden offers locals in the greater Toronto area a close by skiing experience. Glen Eden has 12 slopes, a terrain park called the “Show Zone” and snow tube chutes! There are 5 lifts including the Shuttle Carpet lift (ideal for beginners), 1 triple chairlift and 2 quad chairlifts. Glen Eden caters to everyone, from beginner to expert, from skier to boarder. They even have a great snow tubing operation for those who want to experience downhill a different way. Glen Eden tends to have colder nights due to its north facing location on the escarpment. The cold nights enable staff to employ great new snow making technology to keep those hills white, even when Mother Nature isn’t cooperating. Modern grooming machines are used consistently to resurface the slopes and build great features in the terrain park. Lessons are available for a variety of ages and aptitues for skiing and snowboarding. Lessons at Glen Eden are tremendously popular, so be sure and investigate early. Night skiing is available and since Glen Eden is located so close for those in the GTA, its easy to get out there for some evening skiing and still be home at a decent time.
